LOVE
AN ACT OF HOPE
A walk into my fantastical and symbolic world of watercolour and graphite. Embracing images of humans juxtaposed with flora and fauna as emotive characters. This exhibit explores the notion that Love itself is an Act of Hope. One has to be brave in opening their heart. Paradise or plunder may await those who decide to set upon the lifelong journey of knowing love. And while none can ever make sense of the thing itself, perhaps it is more sensible to appreciate it rather than trying to understand the feeling.
Part 1: World of Darkness / Body of Light
PART I: WORLD OF DARKNESS / BODY OF LIGHT
In a world of darkness, one must become a body of light. We can shape the energies around us, banishing negativity with our minds. Through the perils of life and love, our perceptions of the world and of others are constantly bending. Yet still, we all wield the ability to cast light in our darkest hour.
PART II: MEMENTO
Over the course of our lives, we hold on to memories, hopes, desires, regrets… mementos of love formed in both paradise and plunder. And at the most unexpected times, emotional snapshots come flooding back, peering into us with a quiet knowing.
PART III: BEGIN AGAIN
You are more yourself than you ever were. Even after losing everything, and with all the colour seemingly stripped away, you have grown, and continue to flourish. And though all the darkness isn’t gone, there is a burgeoning of hope within you that imbues every action with love.
